Granola Ingredients

We are very proud of the ingredients that we use in our granola. All of our granola flavors are made with the following ingredients:

Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, cholesterol level maintenance, weight loss, boosted immune system, proper digestion and regulated metabolism. It also helps to improve dental quality and bone strength. These benefits of oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and their respective properties, such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-fungal, antibacterial and soothing qualities.

Organic Coconut Sugar – Most notable of these are the minerals Iron, Zinc, Calcium and Potassium, along with some short chain fatty acids, polyphenols and antioxidants that may also provide some health benefits. Coconut sugar also has a lower glycemic index.

Pure CT Maple Syrup – we get all of our maple syrup from Sweet’s Maple LLC in Voluntown, CT.  Pure maple syrup is a natural sweetener and features over 54 antioxidants that can help delay or prevent diseases caused by free radicals, such as cancer or diabetes. In addition, maple syrup features high levels of zinc and manganese, keeping the heart healthy and boosting the immune system.

Organic Hulled Hemp Seed – Hemp Seeds are a gift of nature. They are the most nutritious seed in the world. Hemp Seeds are a complete protein and have the most concentrated balance of proteins, essential fats, vitamins and enzymes combined with a relative absence of sugar, starches and saturated fats. Organic Chia Seeds – one ounce of chia seeds (approximately 28 grams) contains 138calories, 8 grams of fat, 12 grams of carbohydrate, 10 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein.Eating one ounce of chia seeds per day would provide 18% of daily calcium needs, 27% of phosphorus, 30% of manganese and smaller amounts of potassium, zinc and copper.

Certified Gluten Free Oats – Each farm delivery of oats is sampled hundreds of times and tested with an R5 ELISA gluten test to ensure the absence of gluten. Advanced color-sorting removes undetected impurities. Roasting enhances that wholesome robust flavor you expect. Finally, the oats are packaged in our 100% gluten free facility and tested for gluten again to ensure their purity.

Other Notable Ingredients that we use:

Organic Raw Cacao Nibs – Studies show that cocoa nibs have higher antioxidant levels than blueberries, red wine and green tea. The antioxidants in cocoa nibs are also more stable than in other foods and are easy for the body to assimilate.

Organic Buckwheat Groats – The protein level in buckwheat grains is the range of 11-14 g of protein per 100 g. Buckwheat has more concentration of minerals like copper, and magnesium. Copper is required for the production of red blood cells. Magnesium relaxes blood vessels leading to brain and found to have curative effects on depression, and headache.

Quinoa – Quinoa is naturally gluten free and contains iron, B vitamins, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, vitamin E and fiber. It is one of the only few plant foods that is considered a complete protein.

Hulled Sesame Seeds – It is a powerhouse of organic minerals, especially calcium, and is an alkaline food that supports bone and general health.
